Public relations is just what it says it is – relating to the public. There are a variety of ways to do it, but the journey of every business’, individual’s, or non-profit’s PR journey should pave the way to repeated, meaningful connections with their respective audiences.
How can that be accomplished? A variety of ways. We like to use a three-pronged approach of social media, media relations, and community programming. We want to connect each of our clients to their desired audiences through:
- the phone that is connected to their hands pretty much all day, every day – creating a direct communication channel through social media platforms; to hold conversations and provide information in a fast, convenient way.
- media outlets sharing meaningful stories about the impact on the community, the economy, and the greater good that the companies that we work with are making and why it matters to their audiences.
- face-to-face connection with the audiences through programs like mentorship, community outreach, special events, and learning sessions, in which representatives can engage with members of the community to leave them with information, education, or inspiration.
Ultimately, as PR professionals, we want to share our clients’ stories with the world and meaningfully connect them with their customers, clients, prospects, and the community. It’s our job to share their value, their impact, and their greatness – and have fun doing it!
From developing, coordinating, and filming Facebook Live streaming segments showing off the creative ideas, products, and services being created in the walls of the great, collaborative co-working space, Geekdom, to planning and organizing the anti-bullying program, Don’t Be a Monster for our friends at 13th Floor Haunted House, the key is to constantly connect in a meaningful way. MEANING is pertinent to that phrase. We don’t want to just do for the sake of doing. We want to communicate, engage, and relate to the public to create that meaningful connection that paves the way to our clients making an impact in the lives of those they serve in their communities.
We count our blessings that this is what we get to do every single day. Our purpose is to energize – and we certainly have the opportunity to do so as we pave the way to daily, meaningful connections in our neighborhoods, San Antonio, the great state of Texas, and beyond.
